Character's Real Name: Ororo Munroe
Character's Nickname/Mutant Name (optional): Storm
Character's Age: Mid-thirties
Character's Gender: Female
Character's Occupation (student, professor, etc): Professor/Headmistress in Xavier's abscence
Human or Mutant?: Mutant
Is your character a Changeling?: No
Affliation (X-men, Brotherhood, CIA, etc. or None): X-men
Powers/Abilities/Skills: Ororo's abilities are to manipulate weather, summoning wind, rain, and lightning to name a few. This is the origination of her mutant name, Storm. She is also gifted in hand to hand combat and completely immune to immense changes in weather conditions.
Storm can only manipulate weather patterns as they exist in nature. For example, she can end a drought in one area by creating torrential rains there, but that would necessitate robbing all available moisture from the surrounding areas. Storm is not able to create atmospheric conditions that do not exist naturally on the planet she is on. For example, Storm is unable to lower temperatures as far as absolute zero or raise them to solar intensities on Earth.
Her ability to fly is created by winds strong enough to support her.
Character's History (must be at LEAST 7 sentences): The daughter of a Kenyan tribal princess (N'Dare) and an African American photographer (David Munroe), Ororo was born in New York.
While stationed in Egypt during the Suez Crisis, a fighter jet crashes into her parents’ house, killing them. Buried under tons of rubble, Ororo survives but is orphaned and left with intense claustrophobia, her fear is so intense, that she has been known to revert to a fetal position if left in tight places for too long. In Cairo, she is picked up by the benign street lord Achmed el-Gibar and becomes a prolific thief; among her victims is her future mentor Professor X who is there to meet the Shadow King. Following an inner urge, she wanders into the Serengeti as a teenager and meets T’Challa, who would become her future husband. Despite strong mutual feelings, the two part ways.
In the Serengeti, Ororo first displays her mutant ability to control the weather. For a time, she is worshipped as a rain goddess to an African tribe, practicing nudism and tribal spirituality, before being recruited by Xavier into the X-Men. Ororo receives the code name “Storm”.
She is taught by Xavier and eventually becomes a supplant to Scott Summers (Cyclops) to become head of Xavier's School For Gifted Youngsters. She is a sister like figure to Jean Grey and a good friend of Logan (Wolverine).
In Xavier and Cyclops' abscence, she has become headmaster of the school and continues to run it under the same principles that she learned when a student there.
Character's Personality (must be at LEAST 7 sentences): Storm is a strong and wildly independent woman whose caring nature and dependability made her a shoe-in for headmaster of Xavier's School For Gifted Youngsters. When the "cure" for mutations ran rampant, she lobbied against Marie (Rogue) "curing" herself because she feels mutation is not a disease. Her feelings on humans remain dark. She will devote her life to saving them, but more than anything she is angry at their intolerance of mutants. She is serene and dignified and loves the children she teaches with all of her heart. When angered, Storm is not one to mess around with. As seen with Toad, her biting wit is almost as vicious as the lightning she produces. When she is worried or upset, her control of her powers can weaken and turn the sky gray and rainy.
Character's Appearance (must be at LEAST 5 sentences): African American and stunningly beautiful, Storm stands at a tall 5' 11''. Her white hair has been seen in many styles but is cropped in a pixie cut, for now. While her figure and beauty are a headturner, her most shocking feature is her eyes. Her bright, almost electric blue eyes hold much sadness and anger, but also hope. When using her powers, her eyes change to a glowing and striking white.
Roleplay Sample (must be a LEAST 7 sentences): The sky was gray and foreboding. Storm was not in a good mood today and the melancholy weather reflected that. Storm was worried about Scott and Xavier, but mostly she was worried about Jean. The two were very close and when Jean died at Alkali Lake, she felt as though a piece of herself had as well. Her reincarnation and return was shocking, but good and Storm felt as though things were looking up. With the creation of the "cure" for mutations and Jean being taken over by the Phoenix, Storm was devastated. She took small comforts in Logan and had grown closer to him in that time, but now, with Jean, Scott, and Xavier returning, and under such peculiar circumstances, Storm wasn't sure she could take any more. Jean wasn't herself, nor were Scott and Xavier. Xavier's whole way of thinking seemed to have changed while he was gone. A storm was building, and if anyone knew the destructive power of a storm, it was her.
