Entering the recreation room, Devin saw some potential in an HDTV, which gleamed with technological majesty in front of a comfy sofa. Taking the remote control in hand, he turned on the television and was quickly disappointed to see that there was nothing interesting to watch. It was, after all, approximately three o'clock on Sunday, and he was not particularly fond of American television. He decided to watch a baseball game out a mixure of curiosity and sheer boredom. He didn't really know much about it. It all seemed very strange to him. The teams that were playing were the Yankees and the Phillies. Although he wasn't really understanding the rules of the game, he could gather that the Phillies were beating the Yankees. He didn't really care though.

With nothing to do on the lazy Sunday afternoon, Faye had headed down to the day room thinking she could drown her boredom in the mindlessness of television. As she peered into the room, the teenager was blinded by a glow brighter than any she had seen, and suddenly knew without a doubt what the mutation that caused it was. Slightly in awe, Faye walked up and stood beside the teenaged boy for a moment, her eyes glued to the baseball game.
After watching a man run to first base she slowly turned her head and poked him in the ribs, hard, wanting to make sure he was real. "Oh my gosh... You're Doctor Frankenstein!" She said, her voice dripping in surprise. The nickname had come to her suddenly, and it wasn't a perfect match by far, but she liked it.

"Yes, and you must be Professor Attention Deficit Disorder," he replied, not enjoying the jab in the ribs. He wasn't sure if she was referring to his power or the fact that he looked pale and gaunt like Frankenstein. Well, it probably wasn't the latter because she had referred to the doctor and not the monster. Had news of his power really spread that quickly? He shouldn't be surprised. He was able to resurrect the dead, and he generally pissed people off. The combination was likely to catch people's attention. Of course, he had no idea that the girl had the power to detect his ability.

Still a bit shell shocked, Faye didn't register the insult right away. After her grandmother died she had wished that she could bring the dead back to life, but had never really thought that a mutant would actually be able to do it. The only downfall to his talent was that he had to take someone's life force to raise someone, she supposed, it was really too bad.
Finally realizing what he had said, Faye replied, "Not really, I don't normally go up to people like this. I'm actually pretty quiet most of the time, so this is weird for me. I have some questions though, how old can the body be? Can it be decomposed or filled with chemicals? What about ashes? Do they remember their lives, are they like zombies?" Her eyes blazing with the possibilities, the brunette waited impatiently for his reply.

"The body can be as old as you want. The oldest body I've resurrected was from 1825. It can be partially decomposed or filled with chemicals, but ashes don't work. I need a body part. And, yes, they remember their lives. They're not zombies, if that's what you think. It's like they never left," he answered. He was hoping that she wasn't going to offer him a business deal or worse -- ask for a free resurrection. He was trying to get out of the resurrection business, and he definitely was not going to give someone he didn't even know a free resurrection just because they asked. He hated it when people asked for free resurrections. It was like just because he had a power, he was supposed to use it for other people. It was a power that not only made him physically ill but required somebody else died, which always got him in trouble.

Remembering her grandmother, Faye couldn't help but think that she had asked to be cremated for a reason. She must have seen this encounter before her death and not wanted to be brought back. Whenever they had watched zombie movies together her grandmother had always said that dead people should stay dead, not jump out of their graves and eat people. That was disgraceful. Sighing, she knew she would see her grandmother again eventually, but sometimes that time was too far away.
"So, you are like Dr. Frankenstein in some ways." Faye said, pleased that her had nickname fit. "I wish I had an interesting power like you, mine is so incredibly boring, except for the nickname part, but that isn't really my power..."

"I suppose," he said. He didn't really think he was that much like Dr. Frankenstein, but he could see the connection. He personally didn't enjoy the nickname. It was rather irritating. He wasn't one for terms of endearment from strangers. "Well, I guess you just drew the short straw of mutation."
He shrugged. He understood that his power, even with its limitations, was superior.
