Matt was gone. This was a certainty. She had looked all over the school for him, and he was nowhere to be found. She felt like she was going to tear out her hair. How could he just leave her like this? Matt was the kind of guy who thought he do anything whenever he wanted, and if anyone questioned it, he was being victimized. He was always running off to be a hero, and he didn't care about the consequences.
She didn't want to be alone right now. Although she had reconciled with her sister Adrienne, they had never really been close friends. They were in the slow process of becoming friendly with one another and forgiving each other for years of emotional turmoil, and it was difficult. She could really use a friend right now.
Standing in a hallway, she crossed her arms and sighed. She was worried about Matt. Last time he had disappeared, he had been kidnapped and tortured by her sister.

Jack hadn't seen or spoken to Matt since the danger room. He came to find out that Matt had left to follow Wolverine and Aryn to South America to be a hero. He was just coming down off of his anger, he now owed the school plaster and a new punching bag. It wouldn't subside when he found out about the unauthorized field trip that would put Matt on ice and since he trusted Matt, his reputation and job in jeopardy.
He was becoming convinced that his students didn't mind anything he said anymore and was beginning to get paranoid. He still hadn't worked or been addressed about it, none of his students really noticed he'd been gone or stopped him to ask about something. He'd come back with a tough attitude now, Jack King would not be made a fool of again. He was checking the dorms for 'misplaced' students, girls and boys sharing rooms.
He spotted Pandora in the hallway and sighed, she probably knew Matt was gone too. She looked pretty alone there, and he figured she was more peeved then he had been. "Hey" He called to her, his voice ringing with his Manhattan roots. He walked towards her, "What are ya doing in the hall all alone?"

"Oh hey Jack," she said. "I was just looking for Matt. Have you seen him?" She hoped that maybe Jack knew where Matt was, but she doubted it. She had searched everywhere for Matt and hadn't found him anywhere. She was becoming more certain that he was gone. It was just like to run off like this and not tell her. He was so impulsive. It was so irresponsible of him. Didn't he ever think of the people he left behind when he ran off like this?

"He didn't even tell you?" Jack said sounding rather upset. "If he has a brain in that skull he's not using it." Jack growled putting his hand on his forehead. "He's run off to South America, against everyone's orders and wishes, to be a hero." Jack's tone wouldn't shake the anger. "I suspected that you must have known that by now. I'm sorry about that." The teacher's voice quickly went to sympathy. He could only imagine that kind of drama; they were both teenagers and mutant, plus Matt's powers prevented them from being able to make skin contact, plus his youth and personality made him unpredictable in the bad way

"South America?" she said with a mixture of shock and confusion. "And he didn't even bother to tell me?" Once again, Matt had run off without warning. Now he had left the continent without so much as a goodbye. She couldn't believe his carelessness.
"What is he doing in South America?" she asked. What could be so important that he had to rush off at a moment's notice?

"Wolverine found a lead for Leech there, I believe that he said that they were keeping him held up some where in that area and he just wanted to take Aryn but Matt flipped when Wolverine said he wasn't ready and even more so when I agreed. I saw once afterward in the dangerroom , but then I had someone else tell me that he left" Jack put his hands in his pockets.
"I have no idea what was running through his mind." Jack said with a sigh "but I suspect it had some delusion of grandeur. I'm also sure he'll come back having proved me a fool for doubting him." His bodily signs showed that he just couldn't care anymore. His voice didn't prove otherwise either, it was flat and quite frankly annoyed. "He's still letting his emotions control his judgement and overdrive his- well, his drive."

It wasn't much of a surprise that Matt had run off to play the role of hero again. But was there some ulterior motive underneath that? Leech had the power to temporarily cancel other people's powers when he was in range. If Matt was in range of Leech, his powers would no longer work, thus he would be able to touch Pandora. Was that his intention, to go all the way to South America just so he could fulfill a selfish wish? Pandora pushed that out of her mind. Not even Matt would be that foolish. But the idea of him trying to be a hero was certainly valid.
"Thanks for telling me this, professor. I don't really know what I'm going to do know though."

"Eh, no problem." Jack spoke, as he fiddle with the contents of his pockets. He didn't have much more to say. He was growing angrier at the Wilson boy. Leaving against orders and didn't even tell his girlfriend what he was doing? It wasn't his business really, but it still made him angry that a student directly disobeyed not only him but another faculty member too.
"As for you, I honestly have no suggestions quite yet of what to do now." Jack removed one hand from his pocket and used it to rub the back of his head. "If I was you, I'd be preparing my lecture for when my uh well for me it would be a girlfriend, got back." Then again, that was Jack not Pandora, he would tear his 'lover' a new one after vanishing him like that.
