Lydia walked carefully through the woods, adjusting the backpack on her shoulder. It held everything she currently owned in it, minus her motorcycle. She had left that in a parking lot a while back. It had taken some work, but she had followed Gambit's scent from where she had met him. After some hard thinking she had decided to take him up on his offer. Being with the Brotherhood had to be better than with the X-Men. Less people, probably not as many rules, and no hero-wannabes.
She stopped by a tree on the cliff, realizing that his scent ended there. This had to be the entrance, as there was no other reason for his scent to just disappear. She stood staring off the edge of the cliff, forcing away any regrets she might be feeling. She hadn't had the guts to say bye to anyone, but had just left in the middle of the night. Now the sun was rising, and she was stuck waiting for someone to come out.

Gambit was coming back from a night out. Nothing special, just a bit of training. He rode back on a motorbike. One of his favourites. He'd had to work so hard to... take possession of this beauty.
Coming back to the enterance he saw a familiar figure in the distance. He grinned triumphantly. It was almost a win over the X-Men. Plus he'd recruited her, he'd convinced her. He hadn't lost his touch.
He slowed as he approached, hoping not to startle her. The bike purred gently as he pulled up next to her. 'Bonjour mon amie,' he said sincerely.

Lydia didn't even bother to turn when she heard an engine approaching. A slight breeze had carried the scent of the person to her, so she didn't fear any attack. All she was worried about was whether she had made the right choice or not. It had to be the right one. Right?
She shook herself mentally, looking over at him as he spoke. He seemed to be pretty smug about this whole thing. Wonderful. He'd probably never let her forget that he had brought her there. "Hello," she replied, glacning down at the bike. "Been out having fun I take it?"

He nodded, before dismounting his bike and walking it over to the trees. He could sense that she was not sure, he could just tell. But he didn't know what to say, he was never very good at this part.
'What 'bout you?' he was making conversation here, but he supposed it was safe to assume that she didn't grab a lift here in the X-Jet. He touched one of the trees and the elevators appeared.
'You sure you makin' the right choice here?' he asked her, looking over his shoulder at her. 'There ain't no going back after this...' he knew she wouldn't be a disappointment, as long as did join up with them, and not just go running back to the mansion. This was his attempt at being the good guy... he hoped she wouldn't tell anyone about what he'd just said.

"I spent most of the night following you," Lydia replied, tapping her nose to show just how. It hadn't been that hard once she had found the old scent, but it had seemed he wasn't on a direct course to their hideout that night. That, and she was far too easily distracted by everything going on around her.
His question surprised her, but she managed to keep it hidden. He had invited her, and now he was making it sound almost like he didn't want her there. Still, it was something to think about, if only for a moment. "I don't fit in there at all, and all the heroes are too annoying." She shrugged. "It's either here or on my own, and the latter is too boring."

'Good choice, mon amie.' He wouldn't comment on the 'heroes,' he'd always made his feelings clear about them before. He stepped onto the elevator, he almost stopped breathing as he watched her get on. As if this was her last chance to back out. Although that phrase was never strictly true.
'Y'know, I think you're gonna feel right at home.' he said with a crooked little smile.

((Sorry I disappeared. Been having computer problems.))
Lydia adjusted the backpack on her back and stepped on the elevator after him. There was no way she'd change her mind now. She had thought about this a lot before she even left the school. She knew this was the right choice. The only thing that would bother her would be the thought that she had left someone she was friends with behind. What if she had to fight him? She shook her head slightly, deciding not to worry about it until that time came.
She smirked at his comment. "I'm sure I will, especially if all the guys here are this cute."

He smirked a little. She seemed happy enough. 'Nah, I'm definetly the best,' he said with a cheeky grin.
He thought for a second, he liked Lydia. 'If any of the guys give you a hard time, you gotta come and find me, alright?' He was going to look out for her, or try to at least. They entered the Brotherhood lair.
'Home, sweet home,' he said with a little laugh. 'Want the tour?' he offers as he wheels his bike off the elevator.
((OOC: No worries ))

Lydia barely managed not to growl at his offer. She had to remind herself he was just trying to be nice. Still, she could take care of herself. The last thing she needed was a babysitter. "I'm sure I can handle the guys, but I'll keep that in mind."
Glancing around the empty room they ended up in, she started hoping that this place wasn't entirely like this. Surely the others rooms had to be better looking. "Yeah. A tour would be great. I don't imagine I'd want to be wandering around here lost." She smiled, hoping everyone else here would be easy to get along with.

He nodded, someof the guys here could be bigger jerks than he used to be. And the brotherhood wasn't exactly known for being full of the caring, sharing type of people.
'Sure thing,' he said and lead her down one of the tunnels. 'Lots of people get lost, at first.' He gestured to a room they walked past, 'The lounge is down there, best place to meet new people.' he commented. They carried on down the corridor, 'training room is at the end,' he said pointing. 'Supply room,' he said as they passed it.
They went into another part of the lair, this was Gambit's favourite part. 'Interrrogation room, and dungeon can be found if you carry on this way,' he said, again pointing the way. He hoped that wouldn't put her off. They turned a corner. 'Dormitories down ther.' He'd have to find another girl Lydia's age to help her out with a place to sleep and such.
'Wha' do you think?' he knew it wasn't exactly house beautiful though.

Lydia followed Gambit's tour, paying close mind to where everything was. She had a feeling she'd need to know where everything was someday, even the dungeon. The idea of living in a place with one wasn't exactly a great thing, but she could force herself to remember that it meant they at least kept prisoners alive. The only people she could imagine they'd keep in there were X-Men, and she'd rather not run into any of them while they were being held prisoner. Somehow it didn't seem like a good idea just yet. Not that she care about any of them. She just didn't want to deal with them. Surely they'd think she was a traitor, even if she never was really loyal to them.
"It's nice," she replied, casting a glance down the halls toward the dorms. Surely it wasn't the best place she had been in, but it wasn't the worst either. She'd find some way to adjust. "I assume you aren't going to help me find a room?"

He personally wouldn't have used the word nice but c'est la vie.
He could help her find a room, 'to be honest it's a case of finding room where there is one.' He really hoped she'd like it here, despite the far from ideal room situation.
'Do you want somethin' to eat?' he asked her. After all it had gone breakfast time now. He wasn't much of a cook, but they could find something.

Lydia's eyes lit up at the mention of eating. She hadn't realized how hungry she was until then, and food certainly sounded great. She hadn't even made time to hunt on her trip there.
"Food sounds great," she replied, casting a glance around. She couldn't remember him mentioning a kitchen on his tour, so she supposed she'd just have to follow him again. For some reason she wasn't that fond of having to trust someone else to take her everywhere. It just went against her independent nature, apparently.

Witht that he turned round, he'd forgotten to show her where the kitchen was, not that it mattered too much. 'It's jus' up here,' he sad leading the way.
The kitchen was a little like a store room in the fact that you never knew what was going to be there. Sometimes you had boxes and boxes of one kind of food and that was it, it was just a case of finding what you could.
He opened one of the unmarked boxes and found the little boxes of cereal, 'This alright?' he said tossing one in her direction. He wasn't that hungry himself, good old fashioned nicotine would do the job for him.
