Character's Real Name: Arianna Lupercali
Character's Nickname/Mutant Name (optional): Ari/Spectre. Spectre is the nickname that her brothers gave her when they found out about her power. Ari doesn't really like it, but wouldn't change it.
Character's Age: 15
Character's Gender: Female
Character's Occupation (student, professor, etc): Student
Human or Mutant?: Mutant
Is your character a Changeling?: No
Affliation (X-men, Brotherhood, CIA, etc. or None): X-Men
Powers/Abilities/Skills: Ari is able to summon three different spectral wolves. They're actually just manifestations of herself, but she doesn't know that.
1. Myst her yellow-eyed gray-furred companion is almost always by her side. Myst represents her conscience and memory.
2., Tal, has white fur and blue eyes. He is her defense wolf. He is very overprotective of her. Tal represents Ari's loyalty, love, and compassion.
3. The final wolf is Kaein (pronounced CAIN). He has black fur and red eyes, and is her attack wolf. Kaein represents aggression, anger, and fear.
Arianna can only summon one of the wolves at a time. She was nearly killed the one time that she tried to summon two at the same time, and hasn't tried it since. The wolves always appear ghostly, but can change from substantial to insubstantial and back again in an instant. They are about the size of a small horse, but can take the form of a normal size wolf, though they dislike it. It takes Ari's energy to summon them, but it takes none to hold them in the real world and send them away.
The quartet speak to each other through telepathy. They only have that ability within their little circle, and cannot communicate telepathicly with anyone execpt for another telepath, but it has to be the other telepath that initiates the contact. If Ari speaks to the wolves, they can understand, but Ari does not understand wolfspeak. Ari, Myst, and Kaein have light mental sheilds while Tal's is much stronger, and can expand to cover Ari's mind along with his.
She hasn't completely mastered her power. She doesn't know that she can literally take part of one of the wolves and use it, though the wolf looses mass as she uses more of it. Such as if she fitted Kaein's paw over her hand, Kaein would still have his own paw, but would have reduced his size to fill out the empty space.
Character's History (must be at LEAST 7 sentences):Ari was born into a normal human family who did not really have an opinion on the mutant debate. She had two siblings, both of them elder brothers, who were human through and through. It was unknown that she herself was a mutant until her parents found an enormous ghostly wolf playing gently with the toddler. They were terrified at first, but then realized what was happening and gradually accepted Ari's difference.
Arianna was taught to hide her power, as a little girl being followed by giant spectral wolves would not be generally accepted. In the privacy of her own home, though, Ari almost always had one of the wolves at her side. Ari learned more about mutants, and began to look down upon humans, though she still adored her family.
At the age of seven, Ari was being severely bullied in the school playground. Both mentally and physically hurt, she broke her father's number one rule and summoned her wolves in public. She called both Tal and Kaein, and succeeded in bringing them into being. The energy it took, though, caused her to pass out and stay unconscious for five days. It took three days after that for her to be able to move again, and a week to completely regain her former control. She was never bullied on the playground again, but the teachers didn't believe the boys' stories about ghost wolves.
Several times, when Ari got into shouting matches with her father, one of the wolves would appear out of nowhere and break them up, often by terrorizing Ari's father. These happenings caused Ari to strengthen her power and her control over the wolves. Though they might not like it sometimes, they always listen to her commands.
Ari's parents learned of Professor Xavier's school from a friend with a child attending when Ari was almost fifteen, and spent several months deciding whether she should attend or not. Ari and her wolves were eager to go, and finally her parents relented. She quickly applied to the school and packed her bags, starting off immediately.
Character's Personality (must be at LEAST 7 sentences):Ari is very loyal to her friends and family, and betrayal of any sort is not an option to her. She is a good leader, and quite determined, known better as being very stubborn and hard-headed. She will always help a friend in need, though she doesn't often know how to handle other people's emotions and will likely say the wrong things. She enjoys studying and other activities she can do alone, especially reading, writing and drawing. She has a high dislike physical activity, prefering to have her wolves do things for her. Ari is not antisocial, but she is uncomfortable in crowds.
Unfortunately, Ari is often sarcastic and has a sharp tongue. She doesn't really think before she says things, so she intentionally or unintentionally hurts people's feelings a lot. A superior (teacher, adult, or a higher ranking person) has to earn her respect before she will make an effort to be respectful to them. She plunges headfirst into plans and danger without thinking much at all about the consequences. She also has a hot temper, and is angered quite easily.
Character's Appearance (must be at LEAST 5 sentences): Ari is thin and has a willowy figure, giving people the impression that she is older than she is. She is always pale, and looks almost ghostly in dark lighting. She highly dislikes physical activity, though she is rather athletic. She carries herself rather proudly, and she always has a determined and sometimes arrogant air about her.
Ari dislikes flashy and immodest clothing. She is most often seen in jeans, sneakers, and a dark colored t-shirt, most often green or blue. Ari hates dresses, though is not a tomboy. She has a silver charm bracelet on her left wrist. It has a small chain as one charm, a bird in flight as another, and a sheild bearing the crest of a wolf howling at the moon as the third. She is always wearing a watch on her right wrist.
Ari has straight shoulder length, bright auburn hair. Her side-part bangs are held back by a brown leather headband that has two little black and white feathers hanging off of the side next to her left ear. Her eyes are a startlingly vivid green with ghostly silver flecks that seem to move when she has one of her wolves summoned.
Roleplay Sample (must be a LEAST 7 sentences): Ari lay sprawled out on her bed, brooding over the past few hours. Her meeting with Professor Xavier to discuss the mutant side of the school had gone smoothly enough, but she was worried. The Professor was the first mutant Ari had ever met, other than herself. He was a telepath, and that made Ari feel very uncomfortable and exposed around him. Having had to share her mind with three spectral wolves had taught her how to hide her thoughts, but it was more of a vail than a shield. Her wolves and surely any telepath could break it at any time, but she was usually left alone. The Professor, she knew, was far stronger in telepathy than she and her wolves put together and tripled. She was glad that she was on the same side as the wheelchair-bound man.
Not too sure if the whole fiasco was a good idea, Ari summoned up her strength to use her power to call Myst. Instantly, the spectral gray wolf was there with her, laying calmly beside her bed and staring at her with bright, intelligent yellow eyes. The wolf's soft voice echoed through her head. "This is about the professor, right?" Ari nodded.
"There were so many mutants. I've always felt comfortable around humans because I know that I can take on any one of them, but this is different." Ari said. "I don't know what they can do or how strong they are, and there are just so many of them."
"The numbers shouldn't bother you."
"I know, but I only just met Professor Xavier as the first other mutant I've encountered. The thought of so many who might be as powerful as him, and not as nice, is rather disturbing."
"You like to be in control." The gray wolf laughed silently. "There will be many times in your life will you will not hold control, even with us to help you."
"But,"
"You have been wanting this for a long time, Ari. Why pass up something you've dreamed of? A place where you can be yourself, not a mutant pretending to be a human, only releasing your power in the confines of your room? This opens so many doors for you, don't reject the opportunity."
"The Professor said that I can only summon you if I keep you in your smaller form. Some people apparently don't like dogs."
"That's irritating." Myst bared her teeth in a soft snarl. "Maybe Kaein should knock some sense into him."
"He's a really strong telepath, and he has some really threatening looking people for his staff."
"I take that as a veto?"
"I'm glad you understood me. Tell Kaein and Tal that they have to stay in their smaller forms unless I give them direct permission."
"I'll tell them. Do you want to inform your parents of your decision to attend the school? I know that they were noticing your apprehension."
"Yeah, I should do that now. Go ahead and give the boys the update, and I'll see you later."
"Goodbye, little friend." The gray wolf suddenly disappeared, making the room seem much bigger. Ari took a deep breath and rolled off of her bed, heading for the door.
