"But I didn't go through that, how could I possibly understand. I went through waking up only to find everything below my belt was gone. I had a day where I looked like a swiss cheese." He scratched his head. "I also had a day, in a normal school enviroment, amongst mutant hating people, where my hand was invisible and I couldn't get it back, the problem was, it was the hand I write with."

"Well my own grandfather hated me, and my father. Because we had abilities. Because I was different!" Matt said, anger evident in his voice as he straightened up. "I've gone through more hell in the last 2 years, than you have in your entire life. So don't speak on the level that you can relate to me." Matt said, his eyes welling up as he struggled to hold the tears back.

"Kid... I've known that I was a mutant since I was 11 years old," Jack crossed his arms, "That's 17 years, probably slightly under the amount of years you've been alive. Your last two years can be virtually nothing then what you're gonna face for the rest of your life." Jack paced.
"My parents told me not to tell anyone. I figure they must have been embarrassed that their son was a mutant, told the same thing to my little brother, I was luckier then him, I didn't look like I would turn invisible, I didn't look like I could lift a small jet, I didn't look like I could out run a car on a highway. He on the other hand, looks just like what he is." Jack jumped back on his desk.
"My father was recently diagnosed with IS, a few years back, very dear friends of mine died during the first mutant scare, my family sent me here when I was thirteen. They hardly had anything to do with me. My first two years at Xavier's were hell, my powers would randomly generated, ever run into Wolverine in the morning, before he's had his booze?" Jack shook his head. "Running away was the part I didn't enjoy." Jack opened his desk and took out a glass "A simple glass right? Easy enough to hold... do you have inhuman strength? It's really easy to break this thing straight into your hand." Jack put it down.
"Just these last two years, I've been teaching kids with extreme sob stories. Their fathers beating them because of what they were. Their mothers shooting at them. I had a kid come in, really beat up. He found out he was a mutant at a family reunion... after his entire family had just finished talking about how much the mutants were at fault for the problems in humanity. They chased him off with bats." Jack shook his head. "You're not the only one with a sad story. I'm sure your grandfather was most likely very important to you but face the fact. He hated you because you're a mutant. Just like most of the people in the entire world." Jack looked directly at Matt.
"That's why you're here." He wasn't smiling again. "Have you ever seen a normal human when inhumanity syndrome first hits them?"

Speaking of sob stories. Honestly! This man was blabbering on about people getting dissowned by families and beaten by parents because of their mutation. That was other people. Other people could be handled. Matt was the only one close to experiencing what Darren suffered from. Being a victim to your own mutation, living in fear of yourself. Darren sat straight up in his seat and stared at King, his hair falling slightly over his face.
Darren wanted to reply, to tell everyone in the class how many people had it easy. They could get away from what tried to kill them. It was Darrens mutation that tried to kill him though, and the one time he tried to get away from it, it just came back worse. Mutation was still a curse as far as he was concerned, but he'd still work to master it and try to right whatever wrongs he could.
"My younger sister." Darren finally said, hen King asked about seeing someone during the first stages of IS.

"Your sister?" Jack turned towards Darren. He was questionable about the look he was now recieving. "I bet you-" Jack stopped, he looked around. He didn't know how many of them had actually gotten the cure. "How many of you took the cure?" He asked. He fully understood wanting to escape the social standing of freak, and he also knew that there were certainly powers that were particularly dangerous to the health of the owner as well as those around them.
"Is that what happened to you Matt, or have you yet to master your powers?" He asked, it was in no way meant to be a taunt. "I'm sorry. I've heard so many sob stories, I almost forget about those with insane powers." Jack sighed. "You absorb powers right? I'm sure it's quite difficult to get around now... with the things that are going around with the 'cure'" He spoke low. Jack rubbed his head. He was being a moron and he could admit it. "Sorry guys, sometimes I forget. I'm trying to aim towards the masses, not all of us carry things that could kill us or those around us if we were to lose control."

Darren didn't feel he needed to raise his hand when King asked who took the cure. He was almost positive King got the message already, given the glare Darren was giving off in light of having to bring up his late sister. She was a couple years younger than him, and had died not long ago. He was late to hear about it though, given the instability of his powers and his need to stay focused to get them under control. It still hurt though, and hurt even more remembering that he wasn't even able to attend her funeral.
"Maybe you should have looked into the profiles of your students." Darren said, not changing the look on his face or moving his eyes from King at all. "Hell, if I was a special ed teacher the first thing I would do would be to look into the background and illnesses of all of my students, to know how better to help them. But then again, not many former substitutes really care enough, haven gotten the short end of the stick right? You're just here to make money. I'm sure it must be better pay than the local high schools."

"Knowing your students is one of the first thing that is need to be a good teacher, had I known that new students were coming in, I would have checked the files, the last few years have been havoc with all the new case of people coming in with their abilities going insane because they took the cure. There are hundreds of students in this school that I may see every single day. You believe you could read that many file, in the little time I have to do anything other then teach and assist in contain out of control students?" Jack looked straight at Darren. His temper wasn't up at all. "Another part about being a good teacher is knowing how to deal with immature idiots, believe they know everything about their teachers." Jack looked at the rest of the class, many of them were growing tired of this quarrel.
"I don't get paid. As long as I'm teaching, I'm allowed to stay here." Jack headed toward Darren. "I owed Professor Xavier my life after he and his staff took me in and taught me how to control my self to the point of being acceptable in human society. If I wanted to be a high school teacher, I would have been and no one would have ever known I was a mutant. So instead of teaching a student mass without the fear of losing control of things they hardly understand, I would be teaching a normal human classroom. Out burst would have been nothing more then a kid yelling at me because he thinks he's the best damned person on the planet and doesn't need to learn and I wouldn't have to deal with it because they're is always a principals office there waiting." Jack was now standing in front of Darren. "but instead of doing that, I decided I wanted to help those students who weren't fortunate enough to be born without the x-gene... I decide to return to Xavier's. I had to give a speech, write an essay, do research, and find so many students who would enjoy knowing what I had to teach them before Professor Xavier would hire me. AND If you dare, whether it be now or later, insult that man, the fury of a storm will rain down on you... literally." Jack knew where to find those who knew Professor X. He'd barely have to comment about it and so many would become outraged.
"Now if you don't mind, I'd like to do what I came back to do.. teach." Jack turned and was in front of his desk before anything could be said. Students were watching, the fight was annoying, but now it was interesting..

Matt sat back while the two argued and when they finished, he said, "Look, I'm never going to master my powers. Because I abosrb powers. I'm always going to be learning. Having to be careful. I can't be close to everyone. Like someone I know now. I want to be much closer with her, but her power is stopping me. I can't touch her in fear of possibly killing everyone." Matt said, as a tear fell from his eyes.
"You have no idea. Everyone I know so far has said to me at one point, 'You have the best power.' No I don't. I can't control most of my powers yet. I can't be close to the people I want to be close with. Everyone mostly only has one power to control. I have the possiblity of controlling all powers." Matt said as he wiped his eyes and looked at the teacher. He hated his gift, but in a way loved it at the same time. He was so confused. He felt like he needed some drugs again.

"You will not learn to master all the powers you absorb, true. Matt, how would you feel to be able to touch the skin of the woman of which you speech without fear? Sounds impossible with out a cure right? That's why your here." Jack looked at Matt. "You can learn to contain your absorbings of powers, it'll never go away, but it can be learned to be controled. I know, it's a curse... I know it's not easy. I realize this simply because I remember having to learn how to use four powers. It was hell, I'd wake up sore and go to bed feeling like I was on fire, not knowing if I would wake up the next day visibily whole, or having thrashed into a wall in the middle of the night and end up laying in the girls bathroom. They didn't believe that was the truth either." Jack seemingly rubbed his jaw. "But, I know fully controlling one is completely possible. Controlling two, possible, controlling three possible. Controlling four, possible. I've watched others control powers that you couldn't begin to use, on their own. Matt, I promise you, before you leave this academy, you'll be able to shake my hand and not have to worry about taking my powers."

"Thank you, but that's not how my power works. I can't selectively absorb powers. I just do. And this cure everyone's talking about, won't make it better. The best I can do is just cover my hands with gloves and leave it at that." Matt said, smiling at Jack for his support.
"I'd love to touch anyone without absorbing their powers. But that's not gonna happen. So all I have to do is just be careful." Matt said as he looked to the board and then back to Jack. "Speaking of which, what are your powers? Apart from invisbility?" Matt asked.

"Oh, easy." Jack took a hold of his left arm and snapped it so the bone pierced out of the skin. "Super strength." He winced then snapped it back in. The wound began to heal. "Self-healing." He shook out his arm. "And finally." With in a second he was in the back of the class room. "Super speed" he was back in front of Matt in a second.
"I wasn't talking about a cure by the way. Wearing gloves is one of the best ways though... Matt, you're like another person I know. She has no control over what she gets, she's just lucky that it wears off... I think..." Jack truly didn't know. "But she's learning to control it so she doesn't have to wear gloves... so that it can be selective some day... I know it's not right now."

"You mean... There's someone like me?" Matt asked, suddenly getting his interest piked. He dreamt of meeting somone just like him. And what was better was that it wore off! "You have incredible abilities. The power I'd like to absorb is one that allows me to control my powers. That way I can be with anyone and not be scared of being a threat. Or being a theif." Matt said as he looked down a little and then back up.

"Never heard of someone absorbing the control of their powers." Jack rubbed his chin. "And yeah. Her name is... uh... I don't really know her real name... but they call her Rogue. I haven't seen her around that much anymore though." Jack thought to himself. "I suppose you could touch her because you're powers are technically the same... bu-...." Jack sat on his own desk again. Well... hell... would that do anything weird? Wait... didn't she... ugh... my memory is so vague.

Matt smiled a little as he looked to Jack and said, "Well, that's enough about me, dude. Let's continue on into the psycho-analitical analysis that we're supposed to be doing bro." Matt said, not really wanting to talk about his powers in front of everyone. He had little friends as it were. He didn't want to have a pep rally about mimics and their instability.

"The Rogue girl?" Darren said, his interest piqued now that the subject was changed. "I've heard of her. Bit of a legend actually. Wasn't she one of the first from this school to take the..." Darren thought of the possibilities of what may become of her powers as he mentioned it. "The cure..."
Darren rolled his eyes at the though, secretly regretting taking it himself. Not only did the cure make his life more difficult, but it effectively killed his sister in the process. He leaned over his desk and turned to look at Matt. "Look Matt. These teachers suck. I can help you learn to control it. If I can keep myself from dissintegrated just by opening a rift then I can show you how to consciously activate or deactivate your 'theivery'."
